Stephen Karchut grew up in Burlington, Ontario. During his childhood he always had an infinity for technology and learning how to put things together. Growing up, Stephen volunteered with various organizations, notably the Sound of Music Festival and Autism Ontario. Stephen holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography, a minor in First Peoples’ Studies from Concordia University, Montreal, as well as an Advanced Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety from the University of Calgary. After graduation, Stephen started to work as an independent contractor for various local governments doing their security infrastructure. Stephen currently sits on the CANASA South West Ontario Regional Board of Directors.
We train our technical staff through CANASA (Canadian Security Association) and provide ongoing training through suppliers and courses. Our team represents the next generation of security and life safety devices. Our technicians are among the first in the country to receive the latest and greatest tools, training and devices. We far reaching talents including but not limited to Life Safety, Alarm System design and implementation, CCTV, structured cable and whole home audio.

Our office staff is available to answer questions about signal history, call lists, payment options and more! We answer our phones live during the day and route them to the monitoring station after hours so you can always talk to someone about your system! 24 hours emergency service is available upon request.
As a growing business, Alarmtech is often looking to expand our sales and installation teams. Both positions require an affinity for technology and a desire to interact with people. Alarmtech quotes our installations through a consultative process; striving to match needs/wants with budget and lifestyle. Sales consultants provide solutions through consultation, written quotes and professional interactions.
Technicians deliver the quoted solution using best practices and clear communication. The office staff handles all ongoing updates and customer support. Technicians will be trained through the CANASA (Canadian Security Association) ATC course, will apprentice under one of our senior team members. Therefore, technicians need to come to Alarmtech with some experience or education in electronics, construction, cabling or installations as well as a desire to learn coupled with self-motivation.
Consultants will learn through product knowledge and mentorship by senior staff. Successful candidates will have some experience and interest in electronic products and be willing to learn how the systems work beyond a paper quoting tool. Proficiency in media tools will be essential to succeeding in our on-line connected business and industry type.
